This is important, to me. Just purchased a 98 4.3 Vortec s-10/blazer engine, in car. What I want to learn is can this engine be made to run like the old scholl small block chevys?

me again, the car is a 49 triumph 2000, sometimes called a Renown. the first cars made after ww2 ended. it resembles a rolls or bently because they are the ones who designed and built iit. it is about 2/3rds scale of a full size rolls. the motor is almost identical to later tr engines. tr members recommend keeping the stock engine because swaps are complicated and big$. tr motors are also expensive. I envisioned a chevy 2..2 or maybe the 4.3 vortec for the job. it weighs a lot more than the little stock engine, and if you have ever seen this front end you might shy away from driving one. it uses the same transverse sprung axle arrangement first used in model t fords. there are many links and bushings that provide a wildly loose steering condition. I think my king pins are way out of service as well. installing the v6 would be an invitation to death perhaps, but this may end up just a trailer queen, not invited to the Pebble Beach concourse. any body out there ever tried this? jump in. dave
