99 vw cabrio rear back of seat will not come out

I cannot seem to get the back out of my cabrio. The rear bench came out easily
but the back is stiffly in place. i have tried everything it seems. Looked in the
trunk for release, none. Tried pulling it up and folding it, will not move. I need to
get it out.

Look at base of backseat near seat belt attachment points are should be two bolts through a tin plate welded to seat bracketing remove carefully lift up being aware of side panels to prevent scratches or cuts some side panels have "leather" covering.that can be ugly and expensive to repair.
