Can my catalytic Converter be bad if I'm Loosing compression

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1999 Chevy Blazer 4.3 v6 2wd.  
Starts up in one key turn runs
smoothly on idle, When RPMs reach
1.5 it starts to bog out loosing
compression and only moves 20
mikes no  more than that. I cleaned
out the throttle body the mass air
flow sensor check the map sensor  
is good.. can 't seem to find the
problem. I have a new Catalytic
Converter the 2nd one in the
middle,do you suppose it may be the
1st. Catalytic Converter to the
manifold is clogged or has filter
clogged?
