What is wrong with my vehicle?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I do a cold start on my suburban in the morning, it tries to die on me,
and this is only when it gets single digit or negatives cold. The RPMs will go
up and down, and it sounds as if the engine is trying to die, it hasn't died on
me yet, but once the engine warms up enough, usually after about a minute
of doing that, it doesn't do it anymore.  I thought it was a clogged fuel filter,
changed that and it still does it.  It may be a MAF Sensor or Throttle Position
but I honestly have no idea.  It has 246k and I still have original plugs and
wires.  Any Ideas what could be my problem? Thanks!!

Maybe it needs a tuneup. I would use a good fuel system cleaner but your idle control valve may be at fault.

Thank you! I've been looking to get a tune up pretty soon! I'll have to check the idle control valve and test it to see if that's an issue. Appreciate the response! Thanks!
