Engine knocking suburban

Asked by Douglas Oct 11, 2017 at 01:54 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently my suburban has started to make and
engine knock. I know most of the possibilities that
cause this but the strange thing is that sometimes it
does it and sometimes it stop. Sometimes it will
even do it in the morning after a cold start. Recent
things that have happened to the car were replaced
spark plugs, catalytic converters, and a recent front
end crash that caused the replacement of the front
bumper, lights, hood, and grill

check the main bearing and piston rod you'll have to drop the oil pan to do this. I have a 99' 5.7 k1500 LS suburban and that's was the problem with mine.
