I have a 2004 mercedes benz c230 kompressor sport, recently the check engine light came on and the car is sputtering, rough idle, poor acelleration

The coil packs, on these act up like that,usually can be solved by shutting car off and cranking back up,this reset,s the ecm,the coil pack,s get,s a signal to produce more fire,for more speed,this is usally when the problem occur,s,go have the coil pack,s ohm tested,and you may have to replace then to solve this issue.

I am having the exact same problem and have the exact same car. Was there any solution to this issue? Do we know for sure it was the coil packs? What are your thoughts on the many solutions I have heard on message boards: oil needs to be changed, battery replaced if older than 7 years, Brake light sensor replace, ABS wheel sensor, ABS module, and steering angle sensor.....are any of these related?

Same problem I had and was told it was the throttle body. Specifically that it wasn't " stacking". To first try cleaning and if no change then replace.
