Battery in my 2003 Toyota Camry. Used Jumper cables and started it. Check Engine sign came up and the car will not accelerate?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Battery died as daughter left the keys in the ignition over night. After I started the car
using jumper cables the Engine light has come on. The car starts now but does not
accelerate. What should I do?

Did a little research. Apparently there has been a lot of problems with the Camry 2003-2004 throttle bodies failing. When they fail, it's the same symptoms you are currently having. Check the fuse for your ECT, if it's good, you most likely have a failed throttle body. If this is the case, try a salvage yard or Ebay. Dealer parts are $850 or more for a new throttle body.

Check the ETCS Fuse & you may have to retrain the speed by turning the KEY to ON then OFF then back ON then OFF then crank it, pull the emergency brake then let it idle up to 3-5 mins then drive it.
