2006 Ram 2500 SLT brake lights come on when Truck is parked and off.

One of my brake lights, along with the cab mounted brake light, turn on and off
at odd hours when the truck is parked and off. First it seemed like it was once
in a while, now battery is dead. Hoping it's just a brake switch, but I'm usually
not that lucky...

brake light is hot at all times ( HAT ) even with car off , it could be the switch , if you don't find something visually obvious a multi tester would be useful to find the problem
It was a relatively new battery....and if the "Hot All Times" was true, why would the lights turn on (and off) only intermittently.

when the brake pedal is pushed from the stop seat position as it moves the brake switch is actuated causing an open circuit that creates a ground to the lights and tunes them on. In some cases the switch my not be in place properly or the brake seat may have a dilapidated or missing seat pad.

when the lights are on this is a parasitic draw and will run the battery down.
