Truck dying

Asked by MLB11 Sep 29, 2018 at 09:41 PM about the 1999 Dodge RAM 2500 ST Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 99 ram 2500 8.0. Truck runs fine then will
Act up loose power and die. Sit for bit then run
good again for awhile. I hooked up fuel pressure
gauge on it and it was 55 psi when running good.
Once it started sputtering and dying. I checked it
and it was at 15psi. Could this be fuel pump?
Thank you

would suspect a bad MAP sensor. Total shot in the dark, but worth investigating. Is the check engine light on? https://www.thoughtco.com/7-symptoms-of-a-failing-map-sensor-4164906
