Have you checked for spark? If spark, check fuel pressure, you will need a fitting and gauge to check. My 1996 V10 recently went thru a fuel pump, its normal for the age of the truck.

    98 Dodge ram 3/4 ton diesel. when the key is in the ignition -not on- the fuel pump runs and tbe wait to start light comes on, will not start. Tried jump starting.
