If the fuel pump still doesn't turn on when you turn the key to the "ON" position, it is probably your fuel pump relay.

the fuel pump comes on. I bled the line on the injector rack. It has good pressure, I even poured gas down the throttle body and it didnt fire. Im kind of thinking its something electrical or like a cam or crank shaft sensor. What do you think!!

try finding your ballast resistor on the firewall. a cam or crank sensor will trigger engine codes. do you have an electrical tester? you should make sure your deffinitely getting power to your coil

The cam and crank sensors don't always throw a code.... I've had 2 cam sensors go out and never had a code

thats strange, it could be the crank sensor it would kind of make sense since the computer needs that to start and run the truck

Check and see if tth tach is moving when cranking. If it isn't the crank sensor is a possible culprit.

Did you ever find the problem with your truck? I have the same problem with my 1996 Ram 2500. Mine is getting good fuel pressure, had no spark so I replaced the coil but that didnt do any good. I had a Mechanic come out and look at it, he said it was the computor so I changed that out too (WoW EXPENSIVE) that didn't work either. I ready to set this thing on fire!!! Please let me know what you found. Thanks!

change the pick up coil in the distibator. It creates the spark need to start the vehicle. Cost about $24.00 at auto zone.

The crank sensor does not create the spark.... it's a hall effect sensor that tells the PCM what position the distributor/cam are in so that it can run the fuel sync The pick up coil is also called the cam sensor as was previously mentioned

HAVE YOU CHECKED THE FUEL SHUT-OFF SOLENOID? OUR ' 96 12 VALVE DIED SUDDENLY GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND WOULD CRANK BUT NOT START. SOLENOID REMOVED FOR NOW AND WE MANUALLY OPEN/CLOSE FUEL SUPPLY,,,BUT SHE STARTS EVERY TIME. DRAW BACK IS THAT ENGINE WILL CONTINUE TO RUN EVEN WITH THE KEY OFF UNTIL YOU POP THE HOOD AND SHUT OFF DIESEL.

Try looking under the hood on the drivers side fender well there is a black plastic box with fuses in it I had the same problem there was a fuse bad cost about $4.00 for a new one, (the fuse is a bigger one than the ones for everything else)

My 2500. Ram magnum cranks slow but alternatpr seems ok dont stall when post removed. Clicks like battery dead then it will crank after click like battery dead but new and new positive cable end but negative is made from Dodge. It looks like it also needs replacement of a new one. Would that cause slow crank. If cable looks like. It's from 96?
