what pressure are you talking about boost or fuel pressure? if its boost your turbo is prolly shot or the waste gate is stuck open, low boost pressures will cause lots of black/grey smoke. or you could just have your fuel plate in the wrong position

It wouldnt be the turbo, because it would be easily spotted. I think it would be the fuel plate if its a 12V. But either that or since you have a new injection pump, you might have the fuel turned up, and its not getting enough oxygen to the engine, creating the smoke

thats not true at all, a waste gate could be stuck open and the truck would spool and ever but due to the fact that its not creating optimum boost pressure you get black smoke thats a problem that you could easily miss. like i said greyish smoke is going to be due to some thing wrong with the turbo or a bad injector seal, straight black smoke is going to be the fuel plate in the wrong position. but if your talking TONS of black smoke its deffinitely some thing wrong with the turbo not spooling since if your turbo doesnt spool correctly you dont get air into the engine

Unless he/she installed a wastegate, I would agree with you. But from factory, these trucks do not come with a wastegate.
