Ac condenser fan not working

Asked by Tyler Jun 06, 2018 at 09:32 PM about the 2002 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My ac condenser fan has no power going to it.
Before the fuse melted in the fuse box. I replaced
the fuse box and it worked for awhile but then it
went out. And the fan is fine because I have
hooked it up to the battery and it worked. What can
I do to fix this?

The relay/s is/are prolly bad if the fuse n fan is/are good. Swap the relay/s out with like relays. They should be in the power distribution box.

I have the same problem. AC condenser fan will not run. I also hooked it up straight to the battery and the motor works. I checked the fuses, they are good, bought a relay and tested it but the fan still did not work... any new suggestions?

Barring any other a/c system problems...If AND ONLY if the compressor is running n you get cold air when the pickup is moving, then it's time for wiring diagrams. The ECM controls when the condenser fan cycles on n off. Start at the fan plug, see if you get power...when n where...n work your way towards the ECM

as a follow up... one wire had worn off near the control module and corroded once it was exposed. i spliced the wire and the fan was working. i had to replace the AC lines because the system had overheated and damaged the acumulador (the part that looks like a small tank with a bladder in it). it was very diffcult to find the correct type of refrigerant which makes me think that most people repair theirs with the wrong type which will end up lasting only a couple of yrs. thx again for the responses. good luck 04Dodge.
