1998 Ram 1500 Sport- Need Transmission- will a 1995 work?

We have a 1998 Dodge Ram sport we bought a
couple months ago. Transmission was bad when
we bought it and got taken. A friend of ours
swapped it out only to have issues with the other
transmission. Now we are in dire need of a good
one. We have found one for sale, but it out of a
1995, will the transmission out of a 95 work in a 98?
Also, where do you look to see if it's an RH or an
RE? Not sure where to look to find that information.
