Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The truck fired right up and then shut off after about
30 minutes. Couldn’t get the truck to start up and
wasn’t hearing the fuel pump. A few hours later the
truck fired right up.

Have you considered "bad gas"? Does it take a long time to fill the gastank? Try removing the gascap, leave it off (yes, the check engine lite will likely come on) n see if the problem goes away. Nothing certain, but start with the simple n obvious n work you're way to the complex n expensive. Simple n obvious is considered troubleshooting n usually seems to be the most overlooked.

Yes I’ve considered bad gas. I’ve done everything from replacing fuel pump to removing gas cap. Check fuel system relay and all. It’s almost as if as soon as the truck heats up nothing wants to work when it cools fuel pump and all kick back on.

The next thing you wanna do is get a scanner that reads n displays live data. You're lookin' for long term/short term fuel trims, coolant temp/outside air temp, O2 readings (up n downstream) throttle position n spark advance. Readings only at normal operating temp n steady load/RPM condition. Especially just before failure...2 man job usually. Also, have you repaired your plenum gasket yet? How bout fuel pressure reading at the rail? Check engine lite since problem began?
