2006 dodge Dakota a/c issue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my 2006 dodge dakota is having ac issues.
From 1hr to the next the ac completely stopped
blowing. I turned off the truck for 1hr then when I
got back in it totally did not throw any air at all. I
popped the hood and the ac housing and hose was
frozen. The compressor was turning but still no air. I
turned it off and on, still no air. Even in outside air
with ac off, no air being blown. Does any one know
what it could be?

Evaporator is probably freezing up. Or blower motor is not working causing cold air build up. Normally if freon is low it will freeze up but your saying air is not blowing at all right?

It may be too full, too low, or your high pressure switch is not shutting off the compressor when it has built up enough pressure. Need to put gauges on it. Constant running will turn your evaporator coil into a block of ice that air can't pass through.

After the cabin is cool, turn the dash air cold setting back about 3 clicks... don't have it set on the coldest setting, or the evaporator will freeze up..
