My husband has replaced the starter on our 2003 s10 and not even a month later it will not start again. We had someone come out and said that it was the flex plate and my husband looked at it and there isn't anything wrong with the flex plate. What else could be wrong?

My husband replaced the starter and it was working fine and then it started again. Also he still doesn’t think it is the flex plate in all his years doing mechanic work he has never seen something like this. Since I am a woman and when I go into a auto parts store the guys think that I am a stupid woman. Well I have three brothers and one of them built a car back in the 1960’s so I do know some on how to work on cars. I am not saying that you are like that it is just that some men treat women that way. All I want to do is to help my husband out. He was in the hospital for a while and trying to figure out what is worrying him. He knows it is with him in the hospital for so long he is trying to get back into the swing of things. My husband thinks that the guy is not getting the right starter. I am going to look in to see what the right starter is the right one. He hasn’t rotated the flex plate to see if there is any teeth. We will try to see tomorrow if the truck will start in neutral and if it is then we will know. This is an automatic transmission by the way. We just don’t like Chevrolet’s that much, but he couldn’t pass up the deal with this truck. Thank you for getting a little more info.
