Engine in my s10

Asked by Tommy Sep 08, 2018 at 04:01 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet S-10 LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2.2l S10 threw a rod and I'm looking to replace
the engine. I was wondering what other cars you
can use the engine from.

S10s, S15s, Sonomas, Blazers, Jimmies, some Cavaliers, some Isuzus, check with any salvage interchange index, pretty much any 2.2 from 1999 and later. You can swap over your old fuel rail or intake parts to keep things compatible. There is no shortage of 2.2 engines, you should be able to find an identical match to your 2000. Check on S10forum.com and they'll give you all sorts of options.
