1997chevy s 10 2.2 engine 2wd 5speed trans. There is a 3/16 hole in the bottom of my waterpump. Can i plug the hole or do i need to replace waterpump???

It is a weep hole.Factory installed.If coolant is leaking out of it, replace with new or rebuilt w.pump.

The above answer from 'flac' is 100% correct...! The 'Weep Hole' will leak water to let you know the Water Pump is on its way out !
