Transmission Sawp

Asked by Billy Dec 07, 2018 at 02:20 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet S-10 LS Extended Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 95 S10 with a 4.3 engine. Any ideas
on what vehicles I can pull a transmission
out of that would be compatible with my
motor?

You likely have a 4L60E, you want to stick with 93 to 95 year range, to avoid even minor changes in case design or input shaft specs. S10s, s15s, Jimmy/Blazers, as long as they have the 4.3 should be good. You need to stick with the "E" designations as the computer tells the tranny when to shift. Older trannies like a 4L60 won't work even if they bolt in.
