'93 S10, 4x4, 4.3, 5 speed ...

Asked by Bobby Feb 17, 2018 at 12:13 PM about the 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Tahoe LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I bought the '93 S10, the clutch slave cylinder rod was bent so, it
couldn't even push the master slave to release the clutch.  I've had the same
issue arise a few times (5 or 6) in the past 3+ years and I keep paying
someone to replace the clutch slave.  He's gone now and we never figured
out why the rod keeps bending!  Sometimes it takes 2 weeks to bend,
sometimes 6 months.  Someone, please save what's left of my sanity!

OK ... I had changed the Master Cylinder and the Slave Cylinder again and again, and the problem continued. THIS time; I changed the lines, also. My thinking says; There must be something trapped in the line that occasionally blocks the flow of fluid ... which would cause the problem I'm having. So far? SO good! :O)

My 95 4x4 did the same thing no one could tell me why I found a 96 blazer on craigslist it had the internal slave so I switched the transmission clutch flywheel slave and line over to mine no problems since
