Suspension problem?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 2000 Honda CR-V last
weekend.  It's a great little rig and for the
year it is, it's in excellent shape all the way
around.  I'm only the second owner.  Pretty
stoked.  It does need some basic
maintenance and repair stuff done on it,
and I'm hoping to get it done in one fell
swoop.  There is a metal slapping metal
sound in the front and back when I drive
over bumps.  My previous car was a
Subaru Outback wagon, and it made the
same noise.  I replaced the struts on the
Suby, but it ended up being the front CV
axle making the noise.  I'm not sure what
this noise is in my Honda, though.  I'm not
mechanically inclined, and my dad doesn't
work on Hondas.  I plan to take it to a
shop, but am curious to know if Hondas
have any specific suspension issues I
should be aware of?  Also, if I know what
y'all think, I might be able to keep the shop
from price-gouging because I'm a female.
Oh! It has 124,703 miles on it.  Tires look
fairly new and are wearing normally.
Thanks for any help you can give!  I
appreciate it.

So ya, may have some worn suspension parts on the front end, especially with that amount of miles, just let the shop check it out, you have to look and inspect to see what parts are worn. Just go to a reputable shop, front end parts are pretty straight forward, either they are good or bad. Not aware of any specific issues with Honda, usually pretty good car.
