Truck won't run

Asked by Gearz Sep 19, 2016 at 11:34 PM about the 1991 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat Extended Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my truck will start when I connect the poles on
the starter solenoid but will not stay running
without pumping the gas. Is it just the starter and
fuel, or is it something else?

You have 2 separate issues, starter and fuel. Check fuel pressure and vacuum leaks. As far as the starter, there's a starter relay mounted on ur fender wall, bypass and see if it cranks, if it does, check the voltage signal going into the small wire for relay, if voltage is present when u try to start it with the ignition key, replace relay
