03 Chevy Trailblazer running rough

Asked by Justin Oct 30, 2019 at 03:13 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 03 Trailblazer started running like crap I changed two of
the coil packs that helped it a little bit but it still runs rough
and is a little doggy when you step on the throttle. I cleaned
the map sensor, and  the IAT sensor that didn't seem to
help any. Is there any thing else I can check or is there a
way I can test Those sensors to see if they are just bad?
Please help any advice would be appreciated

Any check engine lights? Likely it's your throttle body that's dirty. Remove fuses #10 and #28 under the hood. Remove the TB and clean. Also, when you removed the plastic resonator to access the coils, make sure you re-installed the PVC hose. The curly one that's near the front on passenger side, on the bottom. Try that and report back.

I already replaced the throttle body and when I did I had the positive cable off the battery however I did not remove any fuses. Today I replaced the camshaft position sensor and no change. It's still throwing p1345 its saying the crankshaft and camshaft sensors need to be in correlation. Does it need reprogrammed?

Now it's saying p0107 which indicates low voltage to the map sensor my buddy's got a Trailblazer as well I swapped out the map sensor to see if that was it it didn't change anything something I did notice is that when I take the plug off of the 4th Bank coil pack that it doesn't change anything which indicates a bad coil pack but I've changed it out and still the same thing that's probably irrelevant but I'm at a loss this is got me stumped

I thought I would give an ultimate analysis for anyone who is interested in knowing what the final conclusion was on my 03 Trailblazer rough running hard starting. After changing plugs, coil packs, camshaft position sensor, throttle body, cleaning the map sensor, and cleaning the intake air temperature sensor. I also did compression test on the cylinders turns out cylinder number three only had 50 psi vs 150 psi on the other cylinders. I also tested the fuel injectors just to be sure but the conclusion was I have a burnt valve. I'm stripping it down and having the head ran through by a machine shop this Monday November 26th. I should have it back together by the end of that week. I will report back and let you know how it's running. Thanks for any interest that any of y'all took in reading about my issues and thanks for the help and advice to FJ4072.
