Turn Signal Relay

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just the other day while it was in the low 90's here I walked out to my truck ticking. As I investigated the sound I found it was the turn lamp relay. it was going by itself and was very rapid. It was not flashing lights on the cluster or exterior but was activated within the relay itself. I thought maybe due to the heat and and after running the AC then parking in the shade with windows open a couple hours later it had stopped. Well just yesterday after work ( it had been raining off and on all day) everything was fine till about a a mile maybe less driving thru town it started again and hasn't stopped. I found pulling the 10A fuse will stop it but it starts as soon as fuse is replaced. I also disconnected the bet for a short time and pulled the fuse panel out and checked for moisture around the GEM at the recommendation of local FORD dealer but found not moisture. If anyone has any ideas it is greatly appreciated.

I am experiencing the same problem today, conditions- damp misty rain all day, cool about 48deg.odd thing is I found that while the flasher is clicking and truck is off (2003 F250SD) turn signals will function. again ignition off, key out. flash rate is odd in this condition. flash rate returns to normal if key is inserted and ignition turned on. I suspected a relay somewhere in the ignition system frozen in the closed position. or possibly a bad ignition switch. I have heard of issues with the molex plug in the steering column. I will be doing a LONG HARD investigation of this tomorrow, and check back with. results.
