Is it a good idea to take my Car to California if the ABS light is on? I live in Las Vegas NV

I bought this Mercedes in May 2015 the dealer never told me the ABS needed repair it will  cost me $1400 I got it serviced but it drives good and everything else is in great condition. I want to go see my grandbaby in California for her birthday   should I take my car or try to rent a car???

You can drive it, but you ABS system will not function and sudden stops like someone cuts you off or jumps a light and you have to hit the brakes fast is going to be a chance. Me I would rent a car because if something goes bad you might not see your grandbaby...

To get the ABS light off in your car just turn it on and then turn steering wheel full left then turn it full right and then turn it full left again and then turn it full right again that should turn off the ABS light. Usually ABS light comes on if you change your battery or lose power to your car from your battery not being connected. I have a 2000 e430 and I did that and was fine and went off. most Mercedes are pretty much the same when it comes to that.
