Sounds like you have a few problems here. As far as the air.....one or more of your actuators are blown. Usually happens when the battery is disconnected and reconnected for whatever reason. PIA to replace, but doable. As far as the accessory belt braking/ loss of coolant, betting your waterpump is seized. Try to move the waterpump by hand (the fan blades are connected to it), betting its frozen. Likely coolant has been seeping out of the weep hole on the bottom, in which case you'd probably not see signs of leakage on the ground. You in N. CA by chance? I can help your boy if you're close.

We are in cen cal. We did replace tthe battery in late summer so that makes sense. He has an ob2 reader if Im saying that correctly. He mentioned a friend telling him it may be camshaft out of allignment.

Is the waterpump seized? Have him try and spin the fan either way with the belt off, the whole pulley should move back and forth. If it doesn't spin, it's frozen and will make a loud sound. While the belt is off, check all of the pulley's while in there, make sure they're not frozen. Power steering, alternator, AC Compressor pulley's to be exact. Also, more importantly, with his OBD2 scanner, what codes are popping up? Normally the code will start with a Pxxxx.
