Hello...I have a 2004 Toyota Solara...I first starting having problems with it 3 months ago...it first started cutting off when I would stop at a light etc..but would crank right up and I would be on my way...it didn't do it more until 3 months ago... As I would drive off it would not accelerate and just cut off. I took it to a shop and they put it on a diagnosisit machine it stated I needed a new computer...ok got that done...but guess what it will crank up and stay on but will not accelerate...fuel pump, full tune-up. Has been done...I'm at my wits in... It runs great as long as you are not moving lolol , but I sure would like to know what I need to do next ...I appreciate any help...thank you...Connie

The cheapest thing to try would be a fuel filter. You'd be surprised at how many customers have come in expecting to spend hundreds of dollars for this same issue only to find out a 50$ repair takes care of it.

Also, do you have any check engine codes? If so, what are they?

Yes the check engine light did come on...however when they put it on the diagnosisit machine it said computer...I had it changed the only difference before is instead of shutting off it will run but not move when u press the gas petal over than move a little because its in drive...I agree with you that whatever it is its got to be miner...

Has the check engine light stayed off since the PCM was replaced?

Ok... That should be easy...I believe say like Auto Zone can do that...once I get that done today I will let you know

What you may wanna do is go to an actual shop and , if you can spare the cash, have someone with a SnapOn scanner or equivalent scan your car. Auto Zone uses a somewhat generic OBDII scanner which doesn't always go into enough detail as to what the issue is. Good luck, my friend. Hope it's something easy and inexpensive

Your welcome. I'm very interested to see what the issue is. I had a V6 Toyota engine at my work the past 4 days trying to figure out the issue before I was finally able to nail it down.
