My cavalier automatic transmission with over drive cable is hooked up not broken bribe works but when I put it in reverse it locks up car will not move can not push it .

All gears work but reverse cable is hooked up shifter is not broken . Reverse
will choke the motor down . Shifter to transmission works just fine . Fluid is
rite . Can you help

motor stalls in D as load is put on x-mission? any check engine light?check fuel pressure and if there is a fuel filter, change it.

Engine runs fine just reverse is when motor stalls fuel filter is ok don't know why it stalls when it's in reverse. Car runs fine and in drive it's no problem.

I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier which I hadn't driven for awhile. When I started it up the other day it started to overheat. It had a new radiator put in last year and it is full of coolant. The fan didn't seem to be kicking on when I let it run.I don't know a lot about fixing cars but I know where the fan is. Although it is hard to see the outer part, which I presume is part of the fan, won't move but the part in front of it will turn.
