Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced a faulty oil sensor 2 months ago. I have lifter noise when I first start
until it warms up. The engine has 135,000 mile and I just oil changed the
engine after my oil light came on. The oil level was normal so I changed the oil
and filter and the oil light still on but gauges read 40-45 at idle. What do you
think is going on?

I understand these engines with high miles have a tendency to have noisy lifters at start up and quiet up as the engine warms. This is what i'm been experiencing for over a year but never had the oil light stay on and still have a normal oil pressure reading, proper oil level and clean 5w-30 oil. If i had a bad oil pump i would think my oil gauge would read low and check engine light go on and eventually i should hear a knocking in the engine which i do not. So i dont think its a bad oil pump.
