Part compatibility

Asked by Alondra Nov 10, 2017 at 05:51 PM about the 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5i AWD

Question type: General

I have an 2005 legacy 2.5i and I've had the car for
four years and no huge issues.  The car hasnt been
driving  right and I took it to my mechanic and it
wasn't pretty as the entire underneath
struts, shocks, bearings etc needs to be replaced
and it's not going to be cheap as I've  calculated
from a parts site. So My question is  what years
and models will fit in an 05 legacy or can usw 05
legacy parts. My family wants me to sell it but the
car has been good to me and extremely  reliable
so I'm in a pickle of whether to sell it or fix. If I
could find a parts car that's more what I'm wanting
to do... any opinions and answers? I've been on
tons of forums trying to figure it out but none are
for my car or they're about modifications.help
please!!! My car is really needed and I'm scared it's
going to break down soon...

I highly recommend new bearings and struts. If the car is not sagging or bouncing out of control the struts can wait but the bearings should be replaced right away.

Okay. I'll focus on that but now my car has stalled three times in one week while at a stop light and then almost stalled whIle pulling into to park. It's not manual or in manual mode(it's tripnotic/slapstick) and no check engine... I have no clue what's wrong because it's not really slipping...a few time but never before or after stalling...so that's another issue I now have to worry about... I appreciate the help!

Ive gone through a lot of personal things so the car wasn't on the road for a year so I have never done a tune up only breaks, oil, bearings and rotors. With other responsibilities that can't be pushed off it got put on the back burner
