1993 Subaru Legacy wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Experiencing nock and ping when going uphill. Changed spark plugs,
air filter,oil/filter,fuel filter. Bought a Haynes manual. Doesn't cover
1993 efi/emissions. Car doesn't have a visible EGR. Does anyone know
if this model has an EGR or have any suggestions? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

i am not sure where the EGR is in the car. i also have the knock and pick when i really get on it. i have ben told that subarus are known for having pinging and knocking noises i have a 99 subie
