Help... Subaru malfunction... Help

Asked by Ravan Sep 16, 2018 at 05:25 AM about the 2001 Subaru Forester L

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This issue started 3 days ago had a strong gas
smell.   It didn't have any get up and go, it kind of
reminded me as if it had a fuel injector problem or
a catalytic converter problem. When it is in gear
and just sitting there it is shaking and losing power
but never seems to die.  I went to put gas in and
realized my gas cap was missing.  Took it to
AutoZone and had it read on the diagnostic
computer and it read  cylinder 1 cylinder 2 cylinder
3 misfire each one of those were duplicated as
well as p0442 EVAP system large leak .040
detected. P0136 ho2s bank 1 sensor 2 circuit
malfunction.  P0128 coolant temperature below
thermostat regulating temperature. So I check the
coolant it was low and I feel that I got a gas cap
placed that on the vehicle and it seems to be
getting worse the check engine light is still flashing
somebody please help me with a roundabout
closer option than the 15 things to AutoZone
people told me in a way for me to buy one of
everything in the store.  Thanks in advance..

Did you replace the spark plugs? The gas cap will fix the large leak code, note that foulded spark plugs will foul o2 sensors and plug catalytic converters, change plugs first then road test to try and clean off the o2's also replace the thermostat that code is rarely caused by anything else hope this helps
