What could cause my brakes and steering to lock up

Lost power and than my brakes locked up
and my steering wheel

Your power steering pump is belt driven by the engine. That's what gives you the power assist. The power brake system uses engine vacuum to provide the power assist for the brakes. So, if the engine stalls you lose the power steering assist because the pump stops pumping and you lose the power brake assist because the engine is no longer making any vacuum. Hope that helps! Jim
