Shaking and rising temperatures

Asked by GuruCSWV8 Feb 20, 2019 at 05:38 AM about the 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 pontiac grand prix. I just had my rack and
pinion changed as well as the axel rods and tie rod ends.
Now my car shakes when im comming to a stop and the
temperature is starting to rise. Could it be the radiator? Had
my elbows changed for the antifreeze. Opened the hood
while car was running and the engine was shaking? I hope
its not serious?!

Not sure about the rough idle unless you've got it seriously overheated. The overheating is likely due to air trapped in the cooling system. Try using the bleeder valve by the thermostat to let that air out and then top up the cooling system. Whoever changed the elbows should have made sure there was no air in the system, but that's another story. If it was running rough as soon as you picked it up from the shop you should take it back right away and have them fix it. They may have got an ignition wire on wrong or broken one while working on it.
