how to check motor that moves seat forward and backward

Note the diagram, If you can get at wiring connector, take it loose, use jumper wires for voltage and ground, off the battery, if need be. Because it's a reversing motor, voltage and ground switch depending on forward or backward. You might use an inline fuse, just in case. If the seat moves forward and backward, the motor should be ok and the problem is elsewhere. You may need to check if seat and motor are lined up ok. You can see wire colors in diagram. good luck
