My 2001 pontiac grand prix gtp is overheating after driving
it only 100 ft.  Also a couple of days ago the cruise control
stopped working and at the same time the back tail lights
stay on after I turn my car off. So Dead battery when I woke

My advice to you is treat the problems mentioned 1 at a time because they don't sound related. Check for air in cooling system and bleed air out as necessary while safely maintaiming proper coolant levels with appropriate coolant and if leaking please clean any coolant up immediately. Antifreeze is known for its deadly effects in humans, animals, wildlife, and natural resources. My car kept overheating but would have af in reservoir because of a clogged hose that goes from res to radiator, overflow hose. I was losing coolant from water pump weep hole and had to replace pump. A separate question Are lights on when driving? If it's a problem with DRL I disabled mine by removing a fuse, were lights left on or came on with switch off? An isolated incident I wouldn't worry about, if reoccurring unhook the battery, if it's drained when it's reconnected replace with a good battery. To be sure disconnect - and + (in that order ground-neg first) and check it later. There's more but on to the next. Oh yeah , cruise control, you need to get info from someone that at least has a clue because I don't. I do know if you get antifreeze with denatonium benzoate listed in ingredients it will be so bitter that pets or people will probably not try to drink it, and eliminating possible needs to dig a hole in the yard. Sorry, and 1 thing at a time was my idea?
