The HUD for my milage oil level n etc stopped working

Asked by Felix May 03, 2018 at 08:02 PM about the 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So My 2001 Grand Prix HUD for gas milage, and
the timer for my lights no longer operate like they
used. The HUD stays off completely,as of before
it'll flicker on & off here and there. Also The Lights
Don't Turn On/off Automatically anymore as well. I
found this red wire coming from the back of the
ac/stereo compartment, anyone know where that
goes or does? My ac doesn't blow cold air anymore
like it was 2 days ago? Its getting hot where I stay.
& it was working perfect (ac) just 2 days ago.
Please help.thank you

Your AC just needs a can of R134a. Is that red wire making any contact to any metal? I believe that's your wire to your radio that engages when you turn the key on. If it's touching a ground, that might explain your gauges and lights.

N that's the recharge for the ac? No it wasn't making any contact, couldn't really tell to be honest,it was jz slowly coming more & more down. When I got to the fuse box area it was just there I tried following it,to trace, n it just went towards the ac nobs & etc. My stereo works fine, turns on & off like supposed to when doors open & etc. Light all work as well, they just don't turn on & off like they used to.

Only thing I know to do is check your relays and wiring. And also your wiring to your ignition because I know if that's loose, your cluster panel and auto headlights is picking it up as the key is turned off.

OK,another thing sorry,I'm no mechanic or anything & everything I've been googling isn't helping I'm getting everything but... Would you know where that is? & that wire isn't connected to anything so idk where to go from there

Been trying to get the owners Manuel for it & I only get up the the alarms & seat belts im looking for wiring connections n etc...
