Dome light won't turn off after awhile

Asked by AuroraDad Aug 15, 2014 at 08:37 AM about the 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Premium

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After shutting door, dome light won't turn off and stays on even.  Manual says it might
take 45 minutes to shut down if condensation has occurred.  This morning the windows
were wet from temperature being 53 degrees over night.  after opening door and closing it
again.  How does one get the dome light to turn off?

Sounds like you might have a door ajar switch acting up. Sometimes spraying them with wd 40 will cure these issues. Also have you checked your dimmer switch? If toggled all the way to one side dome light will always stay on.

Check the light switch next to the headlight switch make sure the little scroll thing isn’t all the way up and then try to turn off the lights sometimes it’s a small thing like that
