2000 Mercury with 4.6 engine V 8 Grand Marque

Number 8 cylinder fries the coil.
Scanner reads misfire on cylinder 8. I
have lost the code. Appreciate any
help.

P0308 perhaps? How many coils have you tried. What brand(s)?
