Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I removed the disc pad & the rotor. Now I see what looks like brake shoes. Are
those brake shoes?

Photo? The rear disks should have internal e-brake shoes.

I would put the tools down and step away from the vehicle. If your are attempting to work on the brakes without knowledge of the parts you are asking for trouble. A botched brake repair can make your car a severe safety hazard for you and others on the roadway. Get some experienced help with it.

Thank you all. I saw a few youtube videos showing that it was the emergency brakes. In the past I've changed a few dozen of disc brakes. Especially on my Caddy's and Volvo's and not once did it ever see this setup (internal) old brake shoes used for emergency brakes. I'll be taking this to a shop since I always hated these types of shoes.
