old telephone sounds coming from under dash? what is that?

i know it sounds odd. 2001 town car, thought someone changed my phone's ringer but it
was not it. it rang like five times and then never again.

check your operating manual. there is a definate reason for this alarm, could range from 'your fuel cap is not tight' to 'hatch is left open' to 'time to go for your yearly maintenance'...open you owners manual and read it....report back, I'll be expecting a full report on my desk in the morning.
