1997 won't start

Asked by sydneybugg Jan 08, 2011 at 06:32 PM about the 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII 2 Dr LSC Coupe

We've had the battery checked and checked the spark plugs.  it wont even start to turn over.  the check engine light is on solid and it dings when you open the door as if the keys are still in it even when theyre not.  the drivers seat doesn't always go back when the keys are out as usual...any ideas?

sounds like the ignition cylinder is screwed up.
