Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck wouldn't start the key wouldn't turn so some Einstein decided to drill it and
messed up my whole steering column now the vehicle won't start

If the collar around the ignition lock wasn't damaged you can replace that part. Remove the cowl from around your steering column and find the little button to release the ignition cylinder. Turn the key until you can push this little button in then simply pull the cylinder out. A new one, or a used one, can be bought and fitted in easily by reversing these steps and reprogramming your theft system. If you want to get real deep into it, you can also go to your local dealership and with proper documentation get the cut code for the old ignition and rekey the new ignition to match. But that's another subject. I just did the same thing to my cavalier.
