Why is my 97 GMC 5-speed 350 vortec not running just cranking

I have a 97 GMC 5-
speed 350 Vortec four-
wheel drive short
wheelbase single cab
truck it will crank and
crank and crank but
not start what could it
be when I bought it it
had a little Miss to it
and then just one day
it quit and just hasn't
started back since I
put a new crank
sensor what all could it
be
