The transmission in my 1994 gmc seirra 1500 4x4 doesn't have first or fourth gear and is starting to slip in second the only way I can get it into second is to manually shift it

My 97 did the same thing , I pulled the pan changed filter checked all the little electric plugs put it back no more trouble.but it could be bad shift cylonids (Google cant spell it either)
