is using a 180 thermostat ok?

after taking out 195 and using 180 truck sounds quieter??any reason???

Using a 180 is fine in older vehicles. I wouldnt use one in a 2000 and up, because the computer expects to see the factory installed temperature value, or it will kick on the engine light. As far as being quieter, i'm not too sure this has anything to do with it. Please award points if this helps
