GMC 5.7 no start with bypass plugged in

If I have the bypass unplugged and set at base
timing, truck starts and idles great. I plugged it in,
truck fires but dies immediately.

    I have a 94 gmc sierra 5.7 that won't start. Getting fuel turns over. Hasn't jumped time I changed cap and rotor, plugs, wires, coil, control mod in distributor still won't fire! What am I missing?
