About: 2003 GMC Envoy XL SLT 4WD

Ticking noise at start-up. Sounds like valve noise, but goes away when warmed up. Checked oil level which was fine.

The most likely cause would be an exhaust leak. Exhaust leaks sound just like a bad lifter,and usually get quiet after engine warms up and everything expands. Check exhaust donuts.
