1) A solenoid is not a computer, its just a switch fed from low amperage to switch a higher amperage component. 2) a Transmission may have several solenoids

The dodge dealership told me the transmission and the computer on the firewall has to match so if I change the solenoid block can I get it to work

The problem I have with what the dealer told you is that the ECM's (car computer) come pre-programmed so they're "Plug n Play." When you buy a ECM the same model is used for a car with an automatic or a manual transmission. So, match the computer to transmission? I don't understand.
